Lewis Carroll的經典兒童文學作品居然在1931年因“將動物描寫得像人一樣交談”而成為湖南省的禁書。當時的審查員 Ho Chien擔心小朋友在閱讀此書後,會誤以為動物和人類都是同樣重要的。

Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece of children’s literature was banned in Hunan province in 1931 because of the way it portrayed animals talking like humans. Censor Ho Chien was concerned it would cause children to think that animals and humans were equally important.
