「跳舞先來落雨,吾通連個天都吾中意我?」NO!NEVER!

A dancer friend told me about the SDK Asia 2017 street dance competition, describing it as the Olympic Games of street dance! With such a glowing endorsement, I contacted the organizers immediately to ask for an interview and the low-down. Saturday, one of the main days of the competition was completely rained out by tropical downpour until 4PM. The venue was hot and muggy, I could barely stand to move let alone dance in this type of weather. It’s pretty disgusting. Where is my beloved AC?! The partipants of the SDK competition are clearly not lazy like me. Our photographer, Falcon, tells me that with the on and off rain, another suspension was looming but the contestants seemed oblivious to the bad weather or just really didn’t give a F…carry on! Guys, girls and even kids were going at it with gusto, and zeal! We finally caught up with the games organizer, Travis, after the event and were able to ask him a few questions.

當下雨的時候當然也很燥底!BUT SHOW MUST GO ON!

SPITGAN : This is the third edition of SDK (Street Dance Kemp) Hong Kong’s section, how do you feel about this year’s event?
Travis Pang : I have very strong memories about the outdoor venue this year. There were a lot of factors beyond my control. All three days of the games were rainy. When our team saw the sun coming out, we were so grateful! But when the rain cames again we were so frustrated…BUT SHOW MUST GO ON! I felt the importance of team spirit, and their positive attitudes. Everyone kept going and did a good job in their position. That was a very pleasant surprise to me. The weather was terrible but I still felt a great sense of joy and accomplishment.

Fleamadonna. Isn’t that like the illest name for a fashion brand? What is it? What diabolical mind would come up with something like that? What does this creator eat to invent such twisted deities? Is there a whole pantheon of other demi-god relations? Is there a Marvel Universe of these holy personas? This is a story we wanted to get to the bottom of even before the supernova, that was the birth of SPITGAN. Finally, issue 2, here it is!

SPITGAN: fleamadonna
fleamadonna : jei

SP:Gangnam

SP: Gangnam

CHEESY RAMEN

CHEESY_RAMEN

Yo. This is some Korean goodness right here. When people told me about this I was like, “cheese flavored ramen? WTF.” As you can tell I can be quite pessimistic about new stuff. Damn though. You have got to give this a shot. I just hit some of this last night on a munchie mission. Delicio! Maybe its the double pack of powdered flavoring? Whatever. This stuff is nice. To that stoner out in Korea that invented this, we applaud you.

KOREAN RICE BEER

RICEBEER

Its name is a bit misleading. The 6% alcohol in this drink comes from rice wine, not hops.
If your asian maybe you’re familiar with grand parents making their own ‘moonshine’ rice wine back in the day. Had this at a Korean BBQ place in Shanghai and it hit the spot. Surprisingly light in taste and alcohol to the point of bland, it goes down smooth with food. Its got bubbles from soda water which is why in translation its probably labelled beer.
No need to add ice though, just chill. Drinking it again the next day with an ice cube just turned it into water with some rice wine after taste. It is alcohol kiddies, but nice.
